Bro. Chris Webb Exhortation

Bro. Ravon Miller Scripture Reading and Meaning

The youth department is an exciting and exhilarating group of young people with a true heart-felt love for God. The youth department's aim and purpose is to reach the youth in this world and lead them to Christ. With hearts inspired by the fire of God, we will do our part reaching the lost and fulfilling the great commission given by our Lord and Savior, that the world may know the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Through Christ, we are able to be young and saved in this present world.

Our youth service on Sunday night was awesome! Bro. Elton went to the scripture I Corinthians 7:32-33 which reads  “But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belongeth to the Lord, how he may please the Lord:, But he that is married careth for the things of the world, how he may please his wife. “ As young people we all come to the point in life when we will be interested in considering a mate. But first and foremost our allegiance should be solely given to the Lord. As verse 32 explains, we that are unmarried must care for the things that belong to the Lord.

In our youth service Bro. Elton asked the young people what are things that belong to the Lord.  He first asked the single young people what they thought it meant to care for the things that belong to the Lord. Bro. Brandon answered cleaning the church, Sis. Sierra said witnessing to souls on the college campus. There were numerous responses in which were good answers to the question. Bro. Elton then asked the married saints what they thought it meant. Sis. Strozier gave the suggestion of the youth going to new comers and making them feel welcomed when they come into the sanctuary.  And there were many other answered. I cant remember them all.  All the answers were very informative and helpful.  Bro. Elton also asked the married what they felt verse 33 meant to them.  Sis. Hannah Moore said she felt like when you enter marriage you still serve the Lord but now you have someone else to tend to. You must see how you can please your spouse. Bro. Darrell gave the youth good food for thought, he related how he and his wife got married and how that after any couple get married their spiritual life should go forward not backwards. Now  two saved and sanctified people are uniting in marriage. Their spiritual life should soar. Getting married should not affect your relationship with the Lord negatively. Marriage is instituted by God and when you make the decision to get married yes you have to take care of more responsibilities but it should never affect your love for the Lord and how your faithfulness to him.

All in all our youth service was very good and informative for the youth. Pray for us as we the youth department of Columbus Ga endeavor to follow the counsel and give ourselves more to the Lord.
